To all of our family, friends, acquaintances, and those we may not have had the pleasure of knowing yet, thank you for taking the time to visit our fundraiser.
As some of our loved ones are aware, Daniel and I have been trying to have a child for nearly 3 years now. We started working with the wonderful team at the ART Fertility clinic last summer, but it became very overwhelming very fast. We have sincere admiration for those couples who choose to dedicate themselves to that process, but it just isn't the right path for us. After a lot of deep discussions and careful thought, we realized that it's not necessarily about being pregnant for us; we want to be parents. We are elated to announce to the world our decision to build a family through private domestic adoption.
While it is very exciting for us and our families, we are only at the beginning of what currently feels like a very overwhelming journey. Not only have we committed to extensive paperwork, a home study, and background checks, but it is quite expensive. Having children costs money, we are aware of that; but it is our understanding that having a child naturally does not require a large sum of money in order to bring the baby home.
It can be a difficult thing, asking for help, but our passion and dedication to being loving parents to a child supersedes all else. It would be our PRIVILEGEto provide an emotionally supportive and physically safe environment to a child of our own.
We don't know who he or she is yet, but we already love them unconditionally, and we need help getting them home. So it is with sincere gratitude and humility that we turn to you, our village, and ask for your help. If you are not able to offer financial assistance, we would genuinely appreciate any emotional support that you can offer throughout this process. However, if you are graciously considering a donation, there is no sum too small to us. Every last penny donated will go towards bringing our baby home.
Truly, genuinely, thank you so much for taking the time to visit us on this journey. The amount of gratitude we have for all of you is unyielding, and at the end of it all we take great comfort in our good fortune of having a community we can turn to when we need help.
