Looe Shedders Need a Permanent Home – Can You Help?
Looe Shedders has grown rapidly since our first meeting in 2021. With over 30 active members and strong community support, we have become a valued local resource, bringing people together to make friends, learn new skills, share knowledge and undertake projects that benefit our community.
But our future is now at risk.
We must vacate our current workshop by 31st March 2027 and without somewhere new to go, everything we have worked so hard to build could be lost.
We are determined that this will not happen and urgently need to find and fund a new permanent home.
Why We Need a Permanent Home
We currently operate from borrowed premises, temporary storage and a workshop that we must soon leave.
This limits:
- The number of people we can support.
- The community projects we can undertake.
- The tools and equipment we can safely accommodate.
- Our ability to provide training, develop skills and support wellbeing.
A permanent home will allow us not only to continue our work but to expand it, helping more local people overcome loneliness and isolation, develop new skills and find friendship and purpose.
Our Search for a New Home
At this time, we have still not yet secured a new site, but we are determined to find one and are actively exploring several possibilities, including purchasing an existing workshop, converting a suitable building or acquiring land on which to build.
Whatever the eventual solution, we will need substantial funding to purchase, build, convert or equip premises that can provide a secure future for Looe Shedders.
Our ambition is to create a welcoming, well-equipped and sustainable community workshop that will serve Looe and the surrounding area for many years to come.
The challenge is considerable, but with the support of our community, we believe we can succeed.
How You Can Help
We have launched a major fundraising appeal to secure the future of Looe Shedders.
Every donation will bring us closer to a permanent home.
You can support us by:
- Making a donation – whether £10, £25, £50, £100 or any amount you can afford. Every pound helps.
- Making a larger contribution towards the purchase or development of our new premises.
- Supporting us through your business or organisation, including sponsorship or donations of materials and services.
- Sharing our appeal with friends, family and local businesses.
- Helping with fundraising events and activities.
- Suggesting suitable land or buildings that might become our new home.

Looe Shedders is about much more than tools and workshops. It is about friendship, wellbeing, shared skills and making a difference in our community.
We have built something special over the past five years. Now we need your help to make sure it has a future.
Together, we can give Looe Shedders a permanent home – and ensure that the friendships, skills and community spirit it creates continue for generations to come.
Thank you for your support.
