Hi,
I'm Button's Mom. After trying for some time, I got pregnant! Not to my surprise, I was bedridden and deemed a high-risk pregnancy. Sadly, before I could enjoy being pregnant or make any plans, I gave birth to my miracle child "Button" when she was only 22 weeks. Although medical staff was very surprised that she survived, each and every day that she hung on, she was an inspiration to everyone who met her! From birth to homegoing, we were sent off to three different hospitals in three different cities. I willingly gave up everything I owned to travel with her and even quit my job to bond, protect, and enjoy her—especially because over the 12 months going from NICU to NICU, survival was always optional. Finally, after multiple surgeries and procedures ranging from her organs to her eyes, we were released to go back home but had no home to go to. We were then couchsurfing, displaced, and homeless until our name came up on the list to be temporarily housed in a family shelter. But this is a story of triumph! I am her biggest fan and she is my biggest motivation! We found a home and are moving very soon. But with her required 24-hour care due to being on a heart monitor, oxygen, and a G-tube feeding machine, it has not been feasible for me to go back to work. But it doesn't change my desire as a mom to provide her a sensory sensitive safe space with furniture and the reasonable creature comforts that we have all come to enjoy. It is not feasible for me not to have a vehicle with a disabled child who is oxygen-dependent. So after being slightly embarrassed but obedient to all my friends who told me to start a GoFundMe, here I am. I'm asking for help because she is worth my faith and humility. I ask for your help because I've got a 50/50 shot. She had less than a 3% chance of survival, so I like my odds! Thank you for reading and be blessed, be brilliant, be Button!
