The LGBTQ Young Adult Shelter of Coastal Georgia is an upcoming homeless shelter to be located in Savannah, GA. Our mission is to assist the unhoused queer and trans population of Georgia and neighboring states to the best of our abilities. Our objective is to do so through the use of monetary means, social services, educational services, referrals, peer support, a day center, and resource center. The Shelter also values operating on compassion, empathy, and empowerment of our queer and trans neighbors and the communities in which we intersect, particularly QBIPOC communities. We work diligently, advocating for legislative change, standing against all forms of discrimination, bringing awareness of social issues, and decreasing stigma around unhoused populations and addiction.
To operate the facility we will be seeking and applying for operational grants as well as donations from individuals and businesses from all over Georgia, South Carolina, Northern Florida and elsewhere in the United States. While this iniative is being established, we will need initial operating capital to complete legal needs, complete real estate research and complete the build out of management structure.
Persons who donate to this cause will receive their name posted to a placard at the entrance to our facility once we open up. If you have any questions, please let us know using the contact links below. We're happy to answer any questions you may have.
