Hi, this is Cherie, chair of the Wagon Wheel Housing Society (WWHS).

Salt Spring Island's Laundromat and Soap Exchange is owned and operated by WWHS as a not-for-profit social enterprise and is considered to be an essential service to support community health and wellbeing.

We have been opened since June 1st 2021, and until this winter, the Laundromat and Soap Exchange has been able to hold its own.

This year however, our costs have increased: rent, fuel, labor, maintenance and repair. Our revenues have not increased, so we are asking our island community to give us a hand to pay the bills, keep the lights on and the doors open.

Our busy season is just around the corner, and we are in the midst of acquiring our CRA number.
