Hey! I am Caroline Costa! I am a Journalist, writer, shamanism student and practitioner, and an activist for the decolonial perspective. I am currently raising funds for Cristian Yauri, Apu Sacsac Huaman Apu de Los Andes Cristian Yauri. Cristian is my dear brother, born and raised in Huari Territory (living currently in Willcahuaín Village, north of Huaraz)

I had the pleasure to be during 10 days with Cristian on his territory, working on the land, recording some videos, joining ceremonies and roaming around the Apu Huascarán, also known as Ichic Willcahuain Archaeological Complex, in 2020. This experience enriched my spiritual life profoundly, and for that, I am forever grateful.

Cristian is a medicine man that carries with his humble heart the wisdom from Huari, Chavín and Inca cultures. He is active in his community, working with ecoactivism and social justice while actively supporting the government and other institutions in preserving indigenous culture in his region.

This fundraising is going to be directed to help materialize Cristian's dreams, which are now also mine, of:

Communicate how he can receive visitors in his territory via a detailed website.
Bring Cristian to Canada.

We are publishing his first book: The Last Inca of Huaraz to support Cristian's goal. This book will be published in English.

This book was Cristian's idea, which he brought to me in April 2020, right after our moment together. In a question-and-long-answer format, this publication tells some key information about his childhood, his first encounters with plant medicine, and his thoughts on non-indigenous people working with indigenous plant medicine.

Below you will find a list of videos of Cristian sharing some of his medicine, teachings and wisdom. He has so many appearances in newspapers, magazines and videos, but in my humble opinion, none make justice to the incredible work he is able to accomplish in his surroundings.
