The Last Guru - Travel costs to be with Durga Ma

It isn't easy to ask for help, but it's important.
This may seem obvious, but I am learning it is an essential part of life. Asking for help doesn't mean that we aren't capable, rather it's an opportunity to make ourselves available to receive support (which we all need sometimes) and an opportunity for others to express compassion and feel good about it.
Being human means we are vulnerable, and I am learning the strength that is afforded our spirit by embracing that vulnerability completely. But my efforts have reached their limits to what I can manage alone.
Durga Ma , my spiritual teacher, and guru is in the final stages of her physical life. She has devoted her entire life to yoga sadhana and has achieved Self-Realization and guided hundreds of people along the path through her life, which will continue on in her work, that I will carry on when she is gone.
As Durga Ma is making this final transition home, I am compelled and devoted to be with her and to help care for her needs. This requires me to make some challenging personal sacrifices for which I need your help.
To be with Durga Ma at this time requires me to:
- travel from Connecticut to Phoenix
- arrange childcare for my son in my absence
- arrange pet care for my cat
- close my healing and meditation private practices while I am away (which means all sources of income)
Your contribution will help to:
- cover airfare from Connecticut to Phoenix
- provide transportation/food in Phoenix
- pay for bills that my private practice will not provide for while I am away
The lessons I have taken away in the past few weeks in making preparations for my teacher have provided a lifetime of wisdom and compassion for the human experience and an exponential amount of spiritual guidance. I am eternally grateful and honored to have the opportunity to serve in this way.
It is my intention, as I mentioned, to carry on her work when she has left this earthly plane and share her teachings with others who are seeking spiritual and personal fulfillment.**
Even after eight years of being her student, I have much to learn and in order to honor her vision my presence with her is essential.
I hope that you will consider being a part of the legacy that she will be leaving to you and the world.
Thank you so much for taking the time to connect with me at this sensitive time, and I hope that it will kindle your inner flame of love and compassion for the sacredness of life, the power of spirit, and the potential of the divine to work through us, to be instruments for the highest and best for all beings everywhere.
As Durga Ma says, "The whole world is One family. Each step you take pulls everyone with you."
Namaste (I bow to the divine One you truly are),

** We have begun ISLAdevi , an International Spiritual Leadership Association to connect, inspire, educate and support a new generation of spiritual leadership across the globe. It is an exciting and tremendous undertaking... the only way to appropriately honor the value of work that Durga Ma has created, and to bring it to the world in a BIG way!
One of the most impressive pieces of work Durga Ma has done for us is a complete translation and commentary of The Bhagavad Gita, from the feminine perspective. A fresh, and much needed look into one of the most profoundly powerful spiritual scriptures in existence. She makes this available through her blog, Mystical Tidbits - free for anyone.
