Hi North Shorians (and friends)

My name is Eve Valentine and some friends and I are raising funds for the Ladies on the Pier.

If you have visited the Lonsdale Pier at any point within this past year you may have noticed a mother and daughter who have been displaced and living within the shipyards.

Many of us in the community have wanted to help them but until now they weren’t ready.

To keep this as brief as possible the goal of this GoFundMe is to get the ladies housed in AirBNBs until Spring 2026 with aims of getting them into BC Housing as well as grant them supports for new clothing, food, and other comforts and necessities.

It will take time and until then many of us want them safe, warm, and most importantly at peace so they can be ready to begin their new life.

As of writing this description the ladies are still sleeping outside. We have a private donation to get them their first 5 days inside but need the community at large to partner with us to provide ongoing stability as they separate themselves from a life of wandering and uncertainty to one of purpose and thriving.

Anyone who knows these women know they do not fit the bill of your average “homeless” person

But in order for their true selves to shine they just need someone or someones to be their strength

Please open your hearts and know that whatever you are able to contribute, big or small, will truly change someone’s life.
