The Kurt Ruark Family

Donation protected
Easter Sunday 2022. An accident at the intersection of Hwy 71 and Jenny Lind Loop changed this family forever. We count it a true Easter miracle that all five are alive! Kurt, the dad, was driving his two sets of twins home after Church on Easter Sunday. The vehicle was t-boned on the driver's side while crossing Highway 71 in the pouring rain. Praise be to God that two of the children walked away with only bumps and bruises. Two were transported via ambulance to the hospital--one with unknown injuries and the other with a broken collar bone and hip fracture. Kurt sustained a leg that was fractured in five places. He has had two surgeries since the accident and may need more. The estimated time before he can bear weight is 10-12 weeks. This family just moved to the area and has enjoyed settling into the Greenwood community. Kurt is the sole breadwinner for the family of six and is considered an independent contractor as a counselor. We are working to raise enough money to cover their living expenses for the next six months. We have estimated housing, utilities, insurance and food to be around $5,000 per month. (The process to get him approved for short-term disability has begun--not sure how long this process takes)! Thank you to those who stopped and assisted at the scene on Easter Sunday. We believe God has a mighty plan for this family! Blessings to those of you who choose to donate. Let's be the hands, feet, and wallet for this family while they can get back on their feet. . . literally!
