Help the Klade Family Twins

Donation protected
Hi! I’m Erin & I am raising funds for my cousin Luke & his wife Mikayla Klade. They untimely welcomed their twin girls Cecelia Elizabeth & Lucille Alexandria on November 29th. These eager little girls couldn’t wait until their due date in March & arrived at just 25 weeks old. Cecelia “Cece” weighing only 1lb 8oz and her sister Lucille “Lucy” weighing 1lb 9oz.

Back on November 8th when mom, Mikayla went in for her 22 week ultrasound check up at Aspirus in Wausau. The medical staff had observed her cervix had severely shorted and she’d need a cerclage procedure done ASAP. Within the stroll down the hallway to labor and delivery she began going into labor. The doctors advised that if she delivered at their facility they would not be able to save their babies. Luckily the medical team at Aurora Bay Care Medical Center in Green Bay was willing to take Mikayla in for her cerclage procedure as well as deliver & care for the girls if need be. They were able to complete the procedure but after a few days Cece’s water broke and Mikayla was then put on bedrest until the girls were to be delivered. They were monitored very closely with daily ultrasounds & tests taken. Within the first 3 weeks at the hospital Mikayla went into labor 4 different times but staff was able to stop her contractions with the use of Magnesium.

On November 29th the girls impatiently made their big debut into the world. Since then, they've been fighting to stay strong through many different obstacles. During their time at Aurora both babies had a PDA that is still being treated with a heart murmur, Lucy had a pneumothorax which they continue to monitor & 2 blood transfusion. Cece has had 5 blood transfusions and also a pulmonary hemorrhage. More recently Cece was discovered to have a stage 3 brain bleed and the ventricles in her brains enlarged. On December 30th Cece was then transferred, away from her sister, to UW Health in Madison where she is now being treated and awaiting surgery to help with her hydrocephalus.

Luke and Mikayla are now dividing their time between their home in Merrill, Green Bay and Madison, which are all just over a 2 hour drive from each other. Luke continues to try to work his full time job as much as he can to support his family & Mikayla is often left visiting the girls alone. The hospitals are somewhat accommodating with their stay but there isn’t always a guarantee they’ll have a room available. You can imagine the stress & uncertainty this couple is facing, yet they remain hopeful and grateful for the care their daughters are receiving. With the help of your donation the Klade’s will be able to pay for their travel expenses and upcoming medical bills. Any amount is greatly appreciated, thank you in advance for your contribution.
