The Kelly's Family Personal Hardship Fund

I am one of the many friends, and families, who cares deeply about the Kelly family. I am calling on our village for help. The Kelly family has experienced one of the most unanticipated incidents. Jessey, the family patriarch, was involved in a terrible car accident that has left him physically impaired and unable to work. Jessey's appointment with the surgeon is scheduled for June 12, 2023, to discuss the condition and next steps, including surgery options.

In addition, Jessey's lovely wife, Yazmin, will have surgery on 06/14/2023 due to Meniere disease and migraine disorder, both of which causes severe vertigo symptoms. Yazim will be out of work for a few months as well. This fundraiser is just a stepping stone to help with the unexpected expenses of immediate care needs, household finances, and other unanticipated expenditures.

Jessey Kelly is a hard working musician, husband, and father whose story inspires everyone who hears it. If you haven't met Jessey before, he is a charismatic, fun-loving Christian who has dedicated his life to his family, profession, and faith. Jessy has faithfully served as his church's head musician for 7 years.

Jessey’s Journey

Jessey was involved in a car accident after church on Sunday, February 28th, 2020. Jessey stopped at a yield sign when he was hit from behind by a vehicle. Jessey suffered severe injuries to his neck and back. On 02/28/2020, he sought medical attention and received multiple treatments, including physical therapy, chiropractic, trigger injections, and multiple rounds of medication.

Jessey was referred to a surgeon on March 8, 2023, due to multiple flare-ups and treatment that was not working.

On April 5, 2023, he was told that he needed to discontinue physical therapy because it would worsen the severity of the damage to his neck and back. The worst of the flare-ups occurred on May 5, 2023.

Currently, Jessy is awaiting the surgery date and insurance company approval to have both surgeries. According to the surgeon and the American Medical Association, Jessey is temporarily disabled, unable to lift any weight heavier than 5 pounds. He was told that any strike to the neck would permanently disable him.

Currently, Jessey hasn't worked in few weeks and has been forced to cancel major gigs and shows. Unfortunately, as a musician, Jessey does not receive sick leave or paid time off; whenever he is sick or injured, he faces a loss in both income and expenses.
