Hi, my name is Michelle Kean, and recently my parents, Matthew & Tiffany Kean were involved in a life altering motorcycle accident. The severity of their wounds are indescribable and their road to recovery will be long. The luxury of having an able body has been halted and every day since September 17th has been nothing short of a grace from God. I am so grateful that they are alive, however it has been hard transition. We are starting a go fund me for our parents to help with costs for basic needs such as food, rent, utilities, and unforeseen medical costs that insurance may not cover so that they can heal in the comfort of their own home. These two have been wheelchair bound since the accident and simple tasks like cooking a meal will require assistance as well. In addition, to help with travel costs for the many family members and family friendships here in Michigan and Florida that will take rotations to comfort them in a time of uncertainty, distress and discomfort. To be transparent, my parents spent over a week in a trauma center, transferred to a rehab facility for a solid two weeks and will have to learn how to function with the new limitations while their bodies adjust to new hardware in their arm, legs all the while breathing with multiple broken ribs. They were both working full time after they retired in Florida, the loss of income will be very difficult. The stitches will come out, the scars will stay and they will push themselves past the breaking point to prove to the physical therapist that they are capable of learning new and functional things. Their home will have to transition to wheelchair accessible options. Our parents are capable of anything, they CAN do this, but we need help and it’s gonna be so hard. We can’t do this alone, we ask for a small donation to support the Kean’s so they don’t do this alone. Nobody should be alone after the horrific accident and they always have each other for over 40 years but right now they need us.
