The Jonesy Foundation is being created in honor of former Temple University Police Officer, James D. Jones, who on June 15, 2020 passed due to complications associated with an autoimmune disorder (not COVID related). James was a loving, kind, supportive, and empowering individual who encouraged everyone he encountered to pursue their goals. He was a generous and dedicated individual who loved protecting the community and who was passionate about changing the world through service, education, and mentorship. When not protecting and mentoring Temple University’s football team, he was active with inner city mentorship programs and schools and often volunteered as a chess tutor and bike safety workshop coordinator.

In continuation of his legacy; The Jonesy Foundation will support inner city communities in the realm of mentorship, food and clothing assistance, and educational and athletic scholarships.
