Hi my name is Sandra Patterson. I am undertaking to do a solo tractor run in my 1975 Ford 6600 from Ballinacarriga to Castletownbere on 19th August via the Mealagh Valley and making my return journey on 20th August 2026. In doing this I am honouring my Dad, John Patterson and recreating his longest trip with a load of grain or beet, a trip he made for decades along with many more long journeys.
My Dad has dementia and is a resident of Clonakilty Community Hospital with over 7 years. My Mom Betty and my Uncle Billy have in recent months become residents of Dunmanway Community Hospital. These two wonderful facilities are invaluable to our local community and beyond. The care my family members and all the residents receive in both these hospitals is second to none and we are extremely lucky to have these facilities in our local community. From the management to the care givers, I can't not speak highly enough of the care that is provided.
I am doing this tractor run to give something back and also honour my Dad's legacy. He is a man that made his mark on the local community and anyone who met him. My daughter Lily and I are so very proud of him and we carry on his name with great love and pride. This run is extremely important to me and I am asking for your support to make it an outstanding success.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and any donation no matter how small will be greatly appreciated by the Patterson and Kingston families.
From my heart to yours, God bless you all and thank you.
