In July, a group of friends, who are all members of Ilkley Cycling Club, are cycling the Jo Cox Way; a 298 miles cycle over 5 days from Batley to London.
We have come together to create this fundraiser for the Jo Cox Foundation and would very much appreciate you sponsoring us as part of our challenge!
Jo Cox was a passionate campaigner, humanitarian and MP who believed deeply that we have more in common than that which divides us. After her murder in 2016, The Jo Cox Way was created as an annual event to honour her life and bring those words to life.
Starting in Batley, Jo’s hometown and constituency, this challenging five-day cycle to London brings together people from all backgrounds through a shared love of cycling. The ride raises vital funds for The Jo Cox Foundation, which has raised over £83,000 since 2021 to continue Jo’s legacy of bringing communities together across the UK.
Like Jo, we believe that a kinder, fairer and more connected world is possible. Underpinning this belief is the understanding that we have more in common than that which divides us. As we work to make change, we follow Jo’s example of collaborating with others and bringing people together to achieve more than we can alone.
