The Jenda Project is a fundraising campaign that utilizes media and merchandise to bring awareness and resources to an underdeveloped primary school in rural Ethiopia. Our initial goal is to provide curriculum material, recreational equipment, as well as water security to the Jenda Primary School, and then continue building until the K-12th grade school is able to provide for all its students. The cost of fixing the water pump alone is estimated to be $1000. Anything we receive beyond that will be used to refurbish the classrooms, revitalize the library with books, provide uniforms for students, etc.
The short film that accompanies the campaign was awarded at the 2019 F.R.O. Film Festival hosted by The Center for Black Cultural and Student Affairs at the Fisher Museum.
"There are so many ways for this initiative to expand and keep helping people around the world -- only time will tell how it manifests. What we know is this is going to take a community effort. All the support we've received so far is very appreciated and we thank you! We hope this organization can become synonymous with black excellence and African pride." - Naod Aynalem
