The Jane Doe Fund is a Michigan based organization that is dedicated to helping women and people with uteruses pay for their abortion procedure. The Jane Doe Fund believes that all people should have access to compassionate, safe, and affordable abortion care and that no one should be denied an abortion based on their ability to pay.
The Jane Doe Fund has existed since 1991 and receives hundreds of calls per year from women and people with uteruses in need. In the past, we have been able to assist approximately 40 people per year. The Jane Doe Fund serves women and people with uteruses in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, and other surrounding states. The Jane Doe Fund can provide assistance in traveling to a health center, finding affordable or free housing while traveling, and helping fund childcare.
Currently, we are not able to assist any people due to a lack of available funding. With the new abortion bans being enacted around the country, The Jane Doe Fund is more committed than ever to ensuring everyone who needs an abortion can access one. With our close proximity to states that have enacted some of the most oppressive abortion bans in the country, the amount of calls we are receiving is only going up.
