Seven years ago, we lost our beautiful mum, Jackie, to cancer. Not a day goes by that we don’t think of her — her strength, her warmth, and the way she always put others first.
In her memory, we are proud to be launching The Jackie Keenan Foundation.
The Foundation has been created to support children and young people by removing financial barriers that prevent them from taking part in sport and physical activity. We will provide grants and donations to help with:
Sports kit and essential equipment
Club fees and participation costs
Access to recreational and leisure facilities
Support for those facing financial hardship
Assistance with treatment or rehabilitation for sports-related injuries
We believe every young person deserves the chance to participate, feel included, stay active, and experience the confidence and community that sport can bring — regardless of their circumstances. This is something our mum felt deeply passionate about. She made sure we had every opportunity to be involved in sport growing up, and it allowed us to thrive, build confidence, and create lifelong friendships. We know she would be incredibly proud to have her name attached to a legacy that gives those same opportunities to other children.
To mark seven years since we lost her, we’re inviting you to take part in our “7k for 7 Years” challenge this March.
Run it.
Walk it.
Skip it.
Swim it.
Crawl it.
However you choose to do it — just complete 7k during the month of March and, if you can, make a donation to support the launch of The Jackie Keenan Foundation.
Every step taken and every pound donated will help us turn something painful into something positive — creating real, practical opportunities for young people to access sport, improve their wellbeing, and build brighter futures in Jackie’s name.
We’d also love for you to follow The Jackie Keenan Foundation on Facebook and share photos of your 7k challenge on the page so we can celebrate everyone taking part.
Thank you for your support, your kindness, and for helping us honour Mum in the best way we know how.
Let’s build something special together.
