The Iris McCray Memorial Caregiver Fund

This fund was established in response to the many who have asked how they can support our family and assist in caring for Errol during this time of transition. Providing for her brother’s well-being was Iris’s foremost prayer and lifelong commitment. As reflected in Matthew 24:35 and James 2:14–17, Iris lived her faith through service to others.

Throughout her life, Iris McCray exemplified dedication to God, family, and community. She served faithfully through her church, the Progressive National Baptist Convention, her career in public service, and as a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She was a devoted daughter who cared for her parents during their illnesses, a loving auntie, and for more than 20 years, the primary caregiver for her brother Errol, who has special needs.

Her unexpected passing, only one month after her cancer diagnosis, has left an immeasurable void in our hearts and in Errol’s life. Yet even amid this loss, we are uplifted by the outpouring of love, prayers, and kindness extended to our family.

The Iris McCray Memorial Caregiver Fund will help provide so Errol can continue to live in the home he shared with Iris and receive the care and support he needs. We are profoundly grateful for your generosity and for helping to honor Iris’s enduring legacy of faith, compassion, and service — you have each been a reflection of God’s light in our lives, a rainbow through this storm.
