Hi everyone,

My name is Tayla, and over the past month and a half, my heart has been breaking for my best friend and her beautiful family.

Her little girl, Athena — who will be turning three next Friday — has been in and out of hospital due to being immunocompromised. A simple illness can have a serious impact on her tiny body, leading to long hospital stays.

Recently, Athena was admitted again after contracting a severe Group A Streptococcal infection. The infection spread rapidly, attacking the bone and causing significant damage. She underwent surgery to remove the affected bone and reduce the swelling. Thankfully, she is now home and recovering, but her journey is far from over.

Whilst Athena was in hospital and now at home, Chloe has had to stop working to be able to put her child first without hesitation. This puts a financial strain on all these factors playing apart of this heartbreaking situation.

To make matters even harder, my best friend was recently involved in a car accident and is now without a vehicle — leaving the family struggling to manage hospital trips, appointments, and daily life.

Watching everything my best friend and her family are going through has been absolutely heartbreaking. They have been through so much in such a short time.
