Having faced homelessness firsthand, we both have decided to create a path for those whom have lost their way and in search of a light for direction. The struggle was beyond darkness and no words could ever explain how real it was to have absolutely NOTHING. No food, no water, no place to live, no destination but the one place you can find for the night. Whether it was a dark ally way or a hidden path in the woods, no place ever felt close to what "home" is. Not only does physical exhaustion set in but also state of mind changes as your thoughts race to keep up with survival. Walking through the streets for both of us has turned our lives of belief into reality. Hot days and cold nights are no way to live. Help is not always out there for those who even seek it. However, with no phone or contacts and always being looked at as if you were a stray animal, did not help. Shelters were always full and reaching out was even more difficult. We are here to return hope to our community and eventually to all communities, one at a time. Not every person outside has a choice to be homeless. Walking throughout the streets to find a dollar just to have food in our stomach is a struggle within itself. Reviving FAITH and HOPE back into communities is our goal. We would give the shirts off our backs in order to help the people that are still struggling and in need. We never lost the faith to carry on and keep moving forward, no matter how difficult it was. Faith saved us both and we would like to return the favor and spread light to those who are lost and in need of, to find their way towards what a "home" should feel like.
