The Hipolito Family

May 10 Update--please see the Update tab for a messag from Clyde and Joan--thank you!

April 12, 2018 Update:

Hi, everyone--I'm sorry to report that there's been a setback for Clay.  The new liver that Clay received is not working, and he is going to need another liver transplant.   This is a very difficult turn of events, and I know Clyde and Joan would value every prayer and good wish you could offer.

You'll notice that I've raised the fundraising goal here.  Clyde and Joan did not ask me to do this, but the fact of the matter is that Clyde and Joan will each have to be out of work much longer than planned.  You have all been so generous already, but if you can think of anyone who might like to donate who has not had a chance to do, please send the link to this page to them.

Thank you.

Our friend Clyde Hipolito is living through any parent’s worst nightmare—and he needs our help.

Clyde’s baby son, Clay, has been fighting a life-threatening liver condition.  He is at the top of the transplant list and is currently hospitalized while he waits for a match.

I’m asking you if you can help Clyde and his wife Joan by chipping in to cover some of the costs they are incurring as they try to spend every minute with Clay as he awaits a liver match.  The hospital is a 90 mile round-trip drive from Clyde’s home.  Parking and gas are expensive.  They would like to find temporary housing near UCSF Mission Bay so that Clyde and Joan could bring their older daughters and Clyde’s mother up to the city.  They are on a waiting list for temporary housing through UCSF but it’s been taking a long time.

I’m sending this to everyone I can think of who has been the recipients of Clyde’s assistance—because now he needs ours.

Please give something if you can— thank you!!!  And if you can’t, keep Clyde and his family in your thoughts and feel free to send him a message to let him know you are thinking of him.  Also, please feel free to forward this to others who might like to help Clyde.  Of course, Clyde would never ask for our help himself but we can do it for him.
