The Herd needs water! Refuge Farms well repair

Refuge Farms is a non profit horse rescue in Western Wisconsin with nearly 20 horses currently in the herd. The rescue is entering it's 25th year of providing safe haven to abused and starving horses. The well at the farm recently failed. Because the pump did not work, water had to be hauled to the farm for days. Thanks to the Spring Valley Fire Department and volunteers, the horses were able to have clean, fresh water. The farm found itself in an emergency situation needing water quickly but with little funding to fix the well. With no time to fundraise, the farm was forced to take funds that were intended to be spent in other important places like hay and feed to pay what they could at the time. The very gracious well repair company agreed to forgo payment for a short period of time. But now we are getting to that time where they will be asking to be paid soon. Your donations will be used to pay off this debt and replenish the money for hay and feed.

Your donations will ensure that the farm is able to continue to fulfill its mission. The bill for the well repair was over $8,200. GoFundMe suggested that we start with a goal of $2,600 so that is where we set our goal, then allowing GoFundMe to increase the goal as we got closer. After much reflection we decided that seemed a bit deceptive so we changed the goal to reflect the actual need.
