The H.A.V.E.N Project

My name is Justine but many of you know me as Lupa, and my story begins in the city. I grew up Brooklyn, raised by my mother alone. 

I was part of a program called the Fresh Air Fund, where inner city children from low income families would be sent to the country to give them an experience they would otherwise never be exposed to. This allowed me to be around farms with all kinds of animals and families that homesteaded. As a leader of our community I have a unique opportunity to provide something more than politics and parties.

I realize in our current community, this option is minimal for many families. Mental health getaways, affordable weekend retreats with the family and just a location for some fresh air and new experiences. How many of our children will never get to experience a taste of what is outside of NYC? How many of you feel days where you are on the verge of a nervous breakdown because it has become much too overwhelming?

The idea, is just that, an idea, but we need some help, and now I am turning to our community and further for some help.

My family will be donating 2 acres of land to build up an off grid structure. We have already begun maintaining farm land and animals and the planting of orchards across another acre but this project is costly and will take a lot of resources.

We plan for the structure to be solar powered, with fresh water catches and wells. Built by volunteer work, and made available for members of the community that need an escape. The goal is to build 2 to 3 of these structures. This project once it begins will take a minimum of 2 years to complete. We will need help, manual labor, donations of materials and supplies. But first, an already made mini home or trailer that can be utilized to house those visiting. All participants of this experience and project must be willing to submit and clear a background check.

This project will allow us to finally apply for a 501C3 non-for profit organization.

Once the project has begun, a TikTok account will be established so that all progress can be seen. Those who donate will receive a receipt showing what their donation paid for.
