With a surge of COVID-19 cases expected to hit Hamilton, frontline healthcare workers are doing all they can to brace for impact. Hamilton hospitals are contacting hundreds of retired workers to prepare for the COVID-19 surge.
Some healthcare workers are living away from their families to keep them safe. Others are working overtime and double shifts to keep up with the increase in patient flow. Others are not eating or drinking anything during their shifts, and they are physically and mentally exhausted.
Sponsored by your generosity, The Hammer Feeds the Frontlines supports local Hamilton restaurants by creating opportunities for their employees to prepare and distribute meals for hospital workers and other frontline staff in our city. It's a win-win.

Juravinski Hospital (formerly Henderson General Hospital)
St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton (Charlton & West 5th Locations)
McMaster Children’s Hospital
McMaster University Medical Centre
St. Peter’s Hospital
Main Street West Urgent Care Centre (UCC)
West Lincoln Memorial Hospital
and other frontline workers at long-term care facilities, homeless shelters, and other organizations across Hamilton.
By purchasing meals through The Hammer Feeds the Frontlines, you will help fuel the incredible efforts of our city’s frontline workers, while also supporting local Hamilton restaurants.
With your help, local restaurants will see the end of this crisis, and we can show how grateful we are for our Hamilton healthcare heroes.
Each donation matters, big or small:
A donation of $15 purchases one quality, individually-packed meal for a frontline staff.
A donation of $150 purchases 10 meals for a frontline team.
A donation of $750 purchases 50 meals for an entire Emergency or ICU department
Meal costs include the cost of food, wages, taxes and delivery.
All funds will be used to purchase high quality and individually-packed meals directly from our restaurant partners and deliver them to recipients at hospitals and other healthcare facilities.
All meals are prepared, packaged, and delivered with strict adherence to all food safety requirements. Special precautions being taken during this time include: individually packaged meals, no finger food, no shared platters, and safe delivery with physical distancing, gloves and masks.
Our initial goal of $7500 will allow us to donate 500 meals to frontline staff. We need your help, and together, we will emerge from the other side of this as a stronger, kinder, (and well fed!) City of Hamilton.
