Well, I never thought I would find myself creating a GoFundMe for myself, but here I find myself. We could use a bit of help from friends and family thanks to Harvey. We know there are countless demands for your time and money through a lot of great charities out there; so please don’t feel obligated. However, if you’re looking to help make a small impact on a family in need, please consider us over the next few weeks.
Amie and I, and our son Carson were devastated by the flood waters that impacted so many of our friends and family throughout the region. As renters, we find ourselves couch surfing for the near future. We will pick ourselves up because that is what Texans do, but a helping hand can go a long way. We lost almost everything inside the single story home, saving only a few pieces of furniture and oddly enough the mattress. (The waterproof mattress protectors they try to sell you at those mattress stores really work.)
Many of our son’s belongings were destroyed along-side the furniture. Our goal is not to rely solely on the charity of others, but hopefully to get a small boost so we can get the family back into a livable situation and some sense of normalcy.
We appreciate you taking the time to consider us at this time. Those that know us understand we wouldn’t be asking if we didn’t need a bit of help. If you find yourself looking to help with the rebuild financially, we simply ask you consider helping out our family directly.
