The Great Postie Bike Adventure 2024
Donation protected
Thank you for your interest in The Great Postie Bike Adventure 2024.
Firstly, congratulations to all riders who participated in our 2023 event, Northwest Tasmania. Everyone’s fundraising efforts made it possible for Horizon Committee to donate $100,000 split between Echuca Regional Health’s Cancer and Wellness Centre and the WP Holman Clinic in Launceston. A significant contribution to both cancer support services - well done everyone.
The primary reason for this year’s event is to raise funds for Cancer Support Services in regional Victoria. Each participant is required to raise at least $1,800 in donations or sponsorship (of course, more is better) as this will be our main source of fundraising.
The Horizon Committee Inc. has been involved in fundraising for cancer support services since 2004 and raised over $2.6m, mainly through the Murray Charity Meander, Echuca-Moama’s Biggest Blokes Lunch, Postie Bike Adventures and Little Blue Towels project.
The funds from previous Postie Bike Adventures helped fund prostate cancer biopsy equipment and support services in regional Victoria and Tasmania.
Horizon has supported Echuca Regional Health and staff for 20 years, funding equipment, training and cancer support services. The Rochester area was devastated by flooding in late 2022 rendering the hospital inoperative. Horizon has committed to assist Rochester and Elmore District Health Services fund a new bus to meet the additional need transporting patients within and outside the local area.
The 2024 event is fully booked and will see 50 Riders and Crew off to the Victorian Alpine Country. Riders will gather in Bright on Thursday February 22nd before heading off on the 3-day adventure. Rides will cover around 700 kms and visit Dartmouth Dam, Mitta Mitta, Omeo, Mt Hotham, Mt Buffalo, Myrtleford and much more of the Alpine Country, so please get behind our Riders.
Thanks again for your interest in our event and support for this worthy cause.
