The Great London Pram Walk — Supporting the National Nanny Association

On Saturday 16th May 2026, Maria Culley and I (Allie Bell), will be walking 21km across London… with prams!

We’re doing this to raise vital funds for the National Nanny Association, so we can continue the work our members deserve — growing our organisation, strengthening the nanny profession, and advocating for the children and families we care for.

Why we’re fundraising

The UK nanny sector plays a crucial role in home-based childcare, yet it remains one of the least understood and least regulated areas of early years care. The National Nanny Association was formed to change that — through:

✨ Advocacy with government, policymakers and sector organisations

✨ Professional development for nannies and families

✨ Raising standards and awareness of the nanny profession

✨ Networking, resources and support for members

✨ Campaigning for regulation and mandatory safeguarding checks

Over the past year we have proudly:

• Led the campaign The Road to Nanny Regulation, gaining cross-party support in Parliament

• Spoken at sector conferences and events

• Built strong relationships across early years organisations

• Launched resources, blogs, campaigns and training for nannies

• Appeared in media raising awareness of safeguarding and childcare reform

• Continued to grow our membership and community

Now we want to go even further — and that’s where this fundraiser comes in.

How the funds will be used

Funds raised will help us to:

✔ Exhibit and network at key childcare and early years events

✔ Expand our member resources and training

✔ Continue our advocacy work for regulation and safeguarding reform

✔ Grow our membership base and regional network

✔ Support operational costs as we scale

✔ Strengthen the Association for long-term impact
