On 27th June, we’re inviting the racing community and beyond to come together for the Great Big Ride in support of Autism in Racing.

You don’t need a horse to take part. You can get involved on horseback, by bike, on foot, or in whatever way works for you. This is about participation, visibility, and coming together to support a more inclusive future for racing.

We are proud to have the support of Dragonbet, who are matching all donations up to £5,000.

Every contribution will go twice as far. A £10 donation becomes £20, and collectively, that has the power to create meaningful change.

We are encouraging a £10 donation per ride, but every contribution, whatever the amount, makes a difference. Giving now, while match funding is in place, is the most powerful way to support the campaign.

Join the Great Big Ride

The Great Big Ride is open to everyone. Whether you are part of a racing yard, a team, a family, or simply want to take part individually, you can be involved.

Bring people together, organise something locally, and encourage others to join you. Trainers, jockeys, colleagues, friends and supporters from all walks of life can all play a part.

You might choose to ride, walk or cycle. You might take part quietly or as part of a larger group. However you do it, every mile helps raise awareness and every donation helps drive real change.

Racing has always been such a big part of our lives, but becoming parents to Thomas gave us a completely different perspective on how the world is experienced.

Like many families, we have learned that environments we might once have taken for granted can feel very different through a neurodivergent lens. Busy, noisy and unpredictable spaces can be overwhelming, even when there is a real love for being there.

That is why the work of Autism in Racing resonates so strongly with us.

They are not trying to change racing. They are making it more accessible. Creating calm spaces, providing understanding, and making sure families feel supported means more people can be part of something they love, in a way that works for them.

The Great Big Ride is a simple but powerful way to support that work. Whether you are riding, walking or cycling, you are helping to create more inclusive experiences for families like ours.

Why this matters

Autism in Racing is a UK Community Interest Company working to make horseracing more inclusive for autistic and neurodivergent people.

For many families, attending a racecourse can feel overwhelming due to noise, crowds and unpredictability. Through autism-friendly racedays, Autism in Racing provides calm sensory spaces, quiet areas, clear information, and trained hosts who understand neurodiversity.

The impact is significant. Many families attend a racecourse for the very first time through this support, and the majority say they would not attend without it.

Where your donation goes

Each autism-friendly raceday costs around £2,000 to deliver. While racecourses contribute, Autism in Racing fundraises the remaining balance to ensure these days can continue.

Donations support sensory provision, safe and quiet spaces, trained hosts, and resources that reduce anxiety and improve access. With match funding in place, every contribution has twice the impact.
