As a part of this, each year, Coventry City Mission supports children from families, who struggle to afford Christmas presents, with our Giving Tree Project. Last year we provided presents for almost 900 children from 360 families.
I have run this project for the last 3 years however, this year is a little different, we are unable to accept the physical donations of presents in the same way, we have already heard of some grant applications which have failed due to Covid 19, and a loss of income from other sources. However we still plan to provide as many of those in need in Coventry with presents as we can. Therefore we are asking for you to donate so that we can buy presents for those children.
We usually aim for presents worth approximately £15 per child, and then add wrapping paper and sellotape, chocolate and craft items as extras if possible, hence the seemingly large fundraising target. We will only be able to provide presents to all of the children who register if we have enough donations, otherwise some will miss out.
If you want more information about the criteria we use to determine whether families are eligible or any other aspects of the project then please do get in touch.
If you choose to make your donation anonymous then you will not receive a thank you from ourselves, if you would like to receive a thank you then please send me a message including your details so that I can send a thank you from us. Otherwise please accept this as our 'Thank you' to you for supporting us in providing presents for vulnerable children this year.
