The Giorgis family walked into the church entrance where I was standing ... dad, three boys (10, 8 and 6 yrs.), two girls (4 and 2 yrs.) and mom who was pregnant with child #6. I remember it like it was yesterday, but it was almost ten long months ago. I commented to them that I had never seen such a beautiful family. Little did anyone know that that very night Billy would end up in the ER with a severe headache and never return home. Billy was diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer. While being treated in ICU for that, he also suffered a fall from bed which would keep him in Halifax Hospital for the rest of his life. Billy was in a coma for months. With the faith and hope of his family and God's goodness, he made small and continual improvements. In November, while Billy was on one floor of the hospital, Christa gave birth to their sixth miracle child (another story!) on another floor. Billy was eventually able to experience their sweet baby snuggling on his chest.

Halifax Hospital determined on May 23, 2018 that Billy's time was up.  He was released from his nine month journey at 45 years of age. He leaves behind a wife and six children (ages 6 months to 10 years).  

We have established this fund to help the family with memorial expenses and to help Christa take care of their six precious children. Any donation, no matter how small, is so greatly appreciated.  Friends of the family are trusting God to provide through the loving hearts of others. Thank you for blessing this family.
