The Gift Of Being Broken VS Killimanjaro
Donation protected
On the 4th of January, a team of eight people led by Knox White (founder of The Gift Of Being Broken) will attempt to summit Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa.
Team leader Knox is a former Royal Navy Physical Training Instructor and Armed Forces Veteran, who represented the senior service at the highest level in football, rugby union, rugby league and boxing. To add to this Knox also represented the Fleet Air Arm Field Gun Crew at the Royal tournament three times at ‘A’ crew all before the age of 25, completing 1000 runs. After 13 years’ service, his promising career was cut short due to needing a shoulder replacement.

Not surprisingly Knox collected an extensive injury list during his service, including 50 concussions two resulting in memory loss (one permanent). Just a month after discharge, Knox was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, which provided a new perspective on life which ultimately led to The Gift of Being Broken.
After co-founding The Heart of Hayling Boxing Academy (now a registered charity), the now Doctoral student at The University of Portsmouth is currently defying his ever-deteriorating mobility and climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in a specially adapted wheelchair alongside his team.
All money raised will be donated to the Amelia Mae Foundation supporting children and families affected by Neuroblastoma, a rare form of childhood cancer.
A HUGE thanks to everyone who has donated so far, please continue to spread the word, and support the team as they embark on this epic challenge.
