On September 25th, 2019, this world lost an incredible coach, mentor and human being. George Tarantini, the former Men's Soccer head coach at NC State, left an impact on everyone he came across. An article published in the News and Observer described coach by saying: "Tarantini had an out-sized personality of a different coaching era. He never lost his accent or his wide-eyed wonder for the possibility of this country or what its opportunities meant. He was from a time when coaches were characters and practice was a test of wills. He was a master psychologist who knew how to get the best out of his players because he cared so deeply about them." Tarantini consistently emphasized the importance of giving back to the community, and for this reason serves as the main inspiration behind this project as we aim to honor his memory. Our goal is to raise $6,000 to provide winter coats for children in the RDU area. Given the limitations brought forth by Covid-19, we are looking to purchase new jackets at an average price of $25 per coat. We will then distribute each coat through two churches in the area on October 24th. We are extremely grateful for contributions of any size as we continue to keep coach in our hearts.
