To know the Gens, is to absolutely love them!
We couldn't be more excited for Matt, Jamie, and Harlow Joon as they await the arrival of not just one baby, but three! All boys. Yes, you heard that right. The Gens’ TRIPLETS are due on December 16, but will most likely arrive closer to Thanksgiving.
On October 18, Jamie was hospitalized earlier than anticipated when Baby A's water broke. Thanks to the amazing team of doctors and nurses at Spectrum, they were able to stop contractions, and keep the triplets in utero. Jamie will remain closely monitored on medical bed rest until they are born.
Friends, Family, Brothers and Sisters in Christ: The Gens need a village to surround them during this exciting, yet challenging time.
How can you support them?
Prayer.
Bathe them in prayer!
First, those sweet boys: every day in utero is important for development. Please lift up their (and Jamie’s) safety, and health.
Secondly, pray for Matt and Jamie's marriage: while apart, pray that God would bless them with a never-before-experienced closeness, and unwavering unity.
Thirdly, Harlow Joon: while she has many people loving and caring for her, she is restricted from going into Jamie’s hospital room. This separation is hard on Mama Jamie and Harlow. Pray that God would bring them peace, and unexpected blessings each day they are apart.
May the Gens see God's hand in every moment of this journey, and trust that God has gone before them, making a way for their sweet family of 6. Psalm 139 is a great chapter to pray over them.
"Those who leave everything in God's hands will eventually see God's hands in everything.”
Financial support.
Give generously, the expenses are mounting!
First, income: Jamie has been unable to work and contribute monetarily over this last season and into the next. Any loss of income brings challenges, but it is particularly difficult in light of their unique circumstance.
Secondly, the commute: Matt is driving daily to and from the hospital. The cost of gas and meals are accruing fast. They will also need to continue to commute once the boys are born and stay for the anticipated 3+ months.
Thirdly, medical expenses: Jamie’s current stay, and care at the hospital, is expensive. Additionally, the cost of caring for three baby boys in the NICU is overwhelming. Relief from medical bills will be a blessing.
Fourthly, care costs once home: Raising three infants simultaneously will be extreme. Just diapers alone will be burdensome. Here is a fun fact: the triplets will go through 800-900 diapers per month when they are first born. Can you imagine that?!? $$$$
As you can see, they need us. Your willingness to support this family means the world to them. Jamie and Matt are two of the most generous people I know in our circle and community! Let's generously support them in return, now and in the months to come.
Thank you for taking the time to consider how you can love this family well! We are so excited to see the joy and light these three little boys will bring to this world!
