The Garrett family's pregnancy journey
Donation protected

Carrie and Joey are pregnant with baby Olivia, and it has been a hard fought journey. The strength and dedication of both Mom & Dad, big sister Madden, and little baby Olivia has brought them further along this journey then expected and we are so grateful for that. But, with hard situations come difficult times and we are asking for you to help with unexpected costs while they try and keep their focus on baby Olivia. We're asking for donations to help with the multiple hospital trips per week they are having to make and because she is unable to work right now. They have already had a few hospital stays and she is undergoing weekly treatments to keep her from going into pre-term labor. All the gas and having to eat out adds up very quickly. This is also causing medical bills to stack up. If you can please give a little to help them in their time of need it would be greatly appreciated.
I'm now going to let you read Carrie's own words from a Facebook post she shared on Valentine's day....
No one prepares you, nor can prepare you, for a difficult and complicated pregnancy. We have waited to share our story because it is hard to put some of the events into words. But we have decided that all the thoughts, good vibes, prayers, magic spells (you know who you are) and good juju are greatly needed.
I will start out by saying that Olivia, Madden’s soon-to-be little sister, is still kicking at 29 weeks and 2 days. She has been fighting and continues to fight her little ass off to defy the small odds she has been given. Trying to make a long story short, probably a reason I should have started updating sooner, but we’ll see lol.
Joey and I have been in the hospital since Monday night with a preterm labor scare. Fortunately, we were able to stop that and have a plan to try to keep me out of labor. Should be going home today and will have weekly visits with specialists.
Her diagnoses: 1. Cystic hygroma on back of neck (found at 12 weeks); this could mean many things but ALL genetic, viral, chromosomal, etc. testing has come back negative or normal. 2. Hydrops - Fluid build up causing her to be very swollen with edema. Still trying to determine how much is around lungs and heart because of possible development issues but everything they CAN see looks relatively normal (she moves a lot and is hard to capture because of my diagnoses - see below).
My diagnoses: I’ve been super sick the entire pregnancy with one thing or another. But currently, the biggest issue is I have extreme excess of amniotic fluid in my uterus causing me to look, feel and totally act 9 months pregnant. This causes her to have a huge swimming pool which is why she is harder to capture. Even being 4.5 lbs already!!! Also puts me at high risk of going into labor, which we don’t want.
Lots has been going on clearly, and I’m terrible with Facebook. But we are so appreciative of those that are helping us with everything. Could not ask for a better support system! We’re asking that you keep our little family in your thoughts and prayers as we enter the final leg of this pregnancy. Love you all!
If you made it this far you understand the situation and you know how loving and deserving this beautiful family is. If you can help monetarily please do but if you can't please help but sending them your love, thoughts and prayers and anything else you can spare. ❤️
