Hi everyone,
I am making this GoFundMe for my daughter Bianca and son-in-law Alex whose biggest dreams have always been to become a Mom and Dad. Bianca was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome at the age of 16 and it has never affected her until she began trying for a baby. The last 2 and 1/2 years have been very difficult on the two of them. They have tried everything under the sun from acupuncture, fertility drugs, intralipid infusions, blood thinner injections, IUIs, and experienced a heartbreaking miscarriage.
Their specialist has told them that their last hope of them having their own healthy baby is by going through IVF. The IVF package their specialist said best suites them comes out to $20,000 and has an 80% success rate. The package includes one retrieval and UNLIMITED Frozen Embryo Transfers for one year with the embryos created from the retrieval in the package and a PGT-A Biopsy. PGT-A, or preimplantation genetic testing for aneuploidies, is a genetic test performed on embryos produced through IVF. PGT-A gives information about embryos' genetic health to help their care team select the best embryo for transfer and improve their chance of achieving a successful pregnancy. In order for them to afford this, they are planning to take out a loan as they would move mountains to be able to bring their own baby into this world.
They did not ask me to set up this fund but as her mother and Alex' mother-in-law it breaks my heart watching them go through this. I know this is an unconventional request in the midst of a pandemic but any amount donated would mean the world to all of us as we are also planning to help them as much as possible!
