As many of you may have heard a beloved staple in our community was tragically killed in a robbery on August 2, 2022. Tavares Davis & his wife NaKesha Davis are the owners of The Funnel Cake Man. This black-owned business can be found in Southlake Mall located in Merrillville, IN and Orland Square Mall, located in Orland Park, IL. Since the day of this tragic event, the locations have been closed. They have employees which are currently out of work until the stores reopen and likely have bills which will also need to be paid.

Tavares Davis, leaves behind his wife of almost 20 years, His two sons AJ (20 years old), Zeke (14 months) and one daughter KaLiah (14 years old).

The funds will be used to ensure the legacy Tavares left for his beautiful family continues on after his untimely death.
