The Front Steps Project - Edina
Tax deductible
Hillary Wallace and I are teaming up to fundraise for the Edina Education Fund's MealFund COVID19 Response!
It feels like everything has stopped, doesn't it? Yet, here we are all -- virtually together -- in our homes with our families trying to make the best of the situation during this unprecedented time.
As a photographer, our passion to spend time capturing images of families in times of joy: engagements, weddings, newborns, siblings, grandparents and more. Those moments of joy and connection are still happening in homes right now more than ever.
This project was dreamed up by a talented photographer in Boston named Cara Soulia, and she is encouraging photographers in other cities to use her idea! Now myself and Hillary Wallace (www.hillarywallacephotography) are bringing it to Edina!
We are offering to take five minute, "Front Steps Portraits" of your family outside your home. After your quick session, we will email you the digital file of your family portrait. In exchange, we are asking you to make a donation to Edina Education Fund through this GoFundMe Campaign. We will be posting these images on my Sweet Hearts Photography Facebook and Instagram using the hashtag #thefrontstepsproject.
The purpose of this project is to bring us together when we might feel isolated, and to document this time spent at home with your family. I want to highlight the faces of our community and neighbors and show that we really are all in this together, from our own homes. Participating in this project is also an opportunity to help those who need it most right now in Edina.
We will be taking images OUTSIDE ONLY and from a minimum of 10 feet away - often more like from the street. Our session will be brief, likely just 5 minutes. This is not a typical photo session where you need to get dressed-up and look your best. I encourage you to come outside to your steps dressed as really are at home. Which for me right now means various types of sweat pants and pajamas. :) However you are looking these days, come outside for a few minutes and let me capture your family being you, on your front steps.
