The Friends of York Hospital
Do you want to join me in making a difference? I'm completing a 150 mile bike ride visiting every one of the hospitals under the York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS trust to raise money for the Friends of York Hospitals and to raise awareness of and pay tribute to the work of the people of the NHS trust.
The Friends of York Hospitals (FOYH) is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation registered with the Charity Commission (1183252) whose objective is to enhance patient care in the York Hospitals by providing and assisting in the provision of facilities, support services, volunteers and equipment not normally provided by the statutory authorities. Recent funding includes an ENT specialist microscope & care packs for staff during the Covid pandemic. See more at foyh.org.uk
I have been personally touched by the work of both the trust and FOYH when my young son was ill in hospital. Thanks to their care, dedication and compassion I have been inspired to "give back".
The ride will take place on either Sat 25 Feb/Sat 1 Mar (dependent on weather), taking in: York Hospital, Scarborough Hospital, Bridlington Hospital, Malton Community Hospital, The New Selby War Memorial Hospital, Nelson's Court, St Monica's Easingwold, and White Cross Court. I'm aiming to complete the ride in daylight hours and I am hoping to complete it in under 11 hours.
