Running for The Flamingo Pool

Update…

Hello all,

Sadly I had been hoping to post photos of kit layout, number collection and journey to London but instead sharing photo of the calf tear that has stopped me running the marathon.

I feel a bit in shock after all the preparation and build up. But, I am super proud of my achievements… got back into the gym, consistently ran three times a week, could head out for 6-10 mile runs knowing it would feel ok (dare I say enjoyable) and managed three long runs… 18.5 miles, 17 miles and 20 miles!!

I really appreciate the support that I have had x

I’m Amelia and I love running to keep me physically and mentally well. For 15 years I entered the London marathon ballot and finally struck gold. I will be taking part (run/walk/hobbling) 26.2 miles on the 27th of April.

I would love to use this opportunity to raise some money for an amazing facility in Axminster - the Flamingo Community Pool (Axe Valley Swimming Association). The pool is invaluable and learning to swim, in my mind, is essential but, as a community pool, running is needed. My children have learned to swim there, we use it as a family and I personally envisage lots of swimming in May!

Do you want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money in aid of Axe Valley Swimming Association and every donation will help. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause.
