The Emerson’s are Adopting

Donation protected
My dear friend and colleague,

Jessica and her husband, Daniel recently celebrated 10 years of marriage. Through those years, they have desired to be parents, but have not yet been blessed. The Emerson’s went through several consultations with an IVF doctor, only to learn that the percentages of having a baby were 1%-3%. Not giving up hope, Jessica decided to take the next year and focus on her health. Being the amazing, determined woman she is, she was seeing the positive results and there was hope that the IVF process would be a success.

Everything was going just as she planned, until the end of October when she suffered a back injury. By October 31st, she couldn’t even walk; her back went out that first whole week of November. November was the month she was to begin treatments. The Emerson’s plans were shut down. Even if Jessica could do the IVF process, she was told that she most likely couldn’t even carry the child due to the back injury. During that time, she went through physical and emotional pain, disappointments, had many questions, and lacked understanding.

Fast forward now, 2 years later, even though Jessica still struggles with back pain and she still have questions; the Emerson’s have hope, peace, and they are looking forward to Adoption. During one of the interviews, the Adoption agent said that Jessica had such a beautiful heart and she could tell she truly loved her job. Now, for those that don’t know, Jessica Emerson is a 4th grade teacher at Jefferson Elementary School. I have witnessed first hand for about 9 years the amount of dedication and love that she gives her students every single day. Not only are her relationships with students, outstanding, she reaches out to their families and builds positive, lasting relationships with them as well. She understands for a child to be successful, it takes more than just teaching content. Jessica devotes her personal time to lead/coach the Jefferson Future Problem Solving Team, Student Technology Leadership Team, she has coached the basketball team several years, and is viewed as a teacher leader in the building. The Emerson’s attend One Life Church in Henderson.  She volunteers and has devoted her life to providing services to members there as well. That is who Jessica Emerson is. She is a wife, a child of God, a great friend, a kind, giving soul, an extraordinary teacher. She now deserves one more title, a mother. Please help this beautiful couple who have devoted their lives to helping others and teaching students, become parents. Altogether the cost of adopting is $24,000. The first step to get on the birth parents list is $7,500. With donations, we can help give the greatest blessing in this world, to a family that never stops giving to our community. Thank you all for your kindness and generosity!
