Introduction

We are the Youth Initiative Foundation, a youth organization working to protect and uplift LGBTQIA+ youth, alongside sex workers, people living with HIV, people with disabilities, and those who use drugs.

We are asking for your support to fund our Emergency Support Outreach Clinic, a life-saving initiative that brings urgent care directly to those who need it most.

Every day, through our Emergency Support Hotline, we hear from LGBTQIA+ young people facing violence, family rejection, homelessness, and discrimination simply because of who they are. Many are in crisis situations with nowhere to turn. While our hotline connects them to mental health support, legal aid, and shelter, the reality is that many still cannot access these services due to stigma, fear, or lack of resources.

That is why we are taking the next step.

The Emergency Support Outreach Clinic will allow us to go directly into underserved communities and provide immediate, in-person support. We will deliver essential services, including mental health care, emergency shelter assistance, food and basic supplies, and protection for survivors of violence.

For many LGBTQIA+ youth in Ghana, this will be more than just support; it will be a lifeline. A chance to feel safe. A chance to be seen. A chance to survive.

How your donation will help:

Provide food, hygiene kits, and basic necessities

Secure emergency shelter for those facing homelessness and family rejection

Deliver mental health and psychosocial support

Offer legal aid and protection services for survivors of violence

Sustain ongoing outreach to ensure no one is left behind

Funds will go directly toward delivering these services through our outreach clinics and trusted community networks.

The funds will also support the organization's operations to enhance our sustainablity.

In a time of increasing hostility toward LGBTQIA+ people in Ghana, the need for safe, community-led support has never been more urgent.

This is about survival. This is about dignity. This is about ensuring that no young person is left alone in their moment of crisis.
