The Elvena Family Needs Our Help

Hello Everyone,

First, thank you for taking the time to show interest in what I hope to be a successful cause.

Meet the Elvena family, Monika, Chris and their beautiful daughter Kayleigh❤️

My family has grown to love this very giving couple and now we hope to help them out in their time of need.

As we know, life can throw some curveballs your way and this family has seen many. Covid has caused Chris to collect unemployment for the past year due to Broadway shutting down and Monika, a hard working nurse has been tirelessly working to help provide for their family, working long days with hardly any break. Through it all, they have figured out a way to make things work.

After years of trying to get pregnant, trying all different options, they were finally blessed with the birth of their beautiful little girl, Kayleigh, this past November. Chris has been an amazing stay at home dad while Monika was forced to return back to work after only 4 weeks of being home with her new little girl. The amount collected through disability was not enough to keep her at home.

Fast forward to this week, when Monika and Chris received heartbreaking news that Monika has been diagnosed with Breast Cancer. She is scheduled to go through surgery next week and must preform radiation with possible chemo, depending on what they find upon surgery.

This is where they need our help. Because Monika has already taken her bonding time to be with Kayleigh, she is no longer allow to collect FLI and New York only pays $198/wk on disability, which puts an extremely financial hardship on the new family of 3. Chris cannot take FLI because he would not qualify because he is unemployed. So they don’t have any options.

No one should ever have to go through this prognosis, but now to have to worry about how to make ends meet along with dealing with the emotional rollercoaster of hearing “you have cancer” all while raising a 4 month old who needs her mommy and daddy.
