The Unbreakable Bond: A Story of Strength, Family, and Resilience

Born on New Year’s Eve in 1979, Aaron and Aric Dalberg share more than just a birthday—they share a deep, unshakeable bond that has lasted a lifetime. Despite being born prematurely—Aaron at 4 lbs and Aric at 3 lbs—the two brothers have always had each other's backs, even when life seemed determined to test their strength.

Raised in Caledonia, Illinois, and later in Barneveld, Wisconsin, Aaron and Aric grew up inseparable. From skateboarding at local parks to spending hours working on old cars, they were always together. Known for their shared sense of humor, creativity, and undeniable talent, they earned the love and admiration of friends and family alike. Whether they were telling stories or helping others with their vehicles, Aaron and Aric were always quick with a smile and a helping hand.

They’re not just brothers—they’re wonderful sons, awesome uncles, and incredible role models. But life, as we all know, can be unpredictable.

The Fight for Survival: Aaron's Battle with LCH

In 2017, Aaron’s life took an unexpected turn when he was diagnosed with Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH), a rare and serious disease where the body produces too many immature immune cells. In Aaron’s case, these cells affected his bones—creating painful lesions on his skull, spine, and lungs.

Despite the pain and the uncertainty of his condition, Aaron faced his diagnosis head-on, undergoing radiation, chemotherapy, and surgery to place titanium plates over holes in his skull. Through it all, his unwavering strength was fueled by the love and support of his family, especially his mom, Ingrid, and his brother Aric.

Though Aaron continues to battle collapsed vertebrae and narrowing in his spine, he remains resilient, closely monitored by doctors who help him stay on top of his health.

Tragedy Strikes: The Loss of Their Mother

In 2018, just a year after Aaron’s diagnosis, the family faced another heartbreaking blow—Ingrid, their beautiful mother, was diagnosed with breast cancer. For five long years, she fought courageously, but in August 2023, she tragically lost that battle.

With the loss of their mother, Aric stepped in to take over the family responsibilities, managing bills, taxes, and the legal matters surrounding her estate. Through this, he continued to support his brother Aaron in every way he could, never wavering despite the immense emotional toll.

A New Challenge: Aric’s Diagnosis

In October of 2024, just a year after losing their mother, Aric began experiencing pain in his chest. Initially thinking it was nothing serious, he soon found out it was much more. After an x-ray revealed a broken collarbone, doctors discovered something far more alarming: Aric's kidneys were in critical condition, leading to the diagnosis of multiple myeloma, a type of blood cancer that affects plasma cells in the bone marrow.

Aric now faces his own battle with cancer, including bone lesions throughout his body, broken ribs, and severe spinal issues. The pain is intense, but Aric, like his brother, has never given up.

The Road Ahead: Hope and Determination

While Aaron’s condition is closely monitored through CT scans, PET scans, and regular blood work, the prognosis for Aric remains uncertain. Doctors are hopeful that chemotherapy and stem cell treatments will put him into remission. However, the full extent of the damage to his kidneys will take time to assess. For now, Aric is focusing on pain management, a strict diet, and staying strong as he undergoes treatment.

As this family navigates an incredibly difficult chapter, they are overwhelmed by the love and support they’ve received. The calls, texts, and visits have meant the world to Aaron, Aric, and their family. Every word of encouragement, every donation, and every offer of help is appreciated more than words can say.

How You Can Help

The road ahead may be long, but with your support, Aaron and Aric can continue to fight their battles with strength and resilience. If you’re able, please consider making a donation to help with medical expenses, treatments, and other costs that arise during this challenging time. No contribution is too small, and every bit of help goes a long way.

Thank you in advance for your kindness, generosity, and prayers. The family is truly grateful for the outpouring of support during these difficult times.
