Hello and welcome. This is my community service project for Honors Civics 2020.My mother will be helping me but this was my idea and I'm so excited to help as many as possible. Thank you for taking a look and please feel free to donate or share. This year in Civics we are learning what it is to be a citizen and how to help our communities by being a good citizen. We all can choose to do a service project for credit.
I came up with this project when I learned of the growing need during covid-19 for young women in my community to have necessary hygiene products during the school day. So many families are struggling now more than ever and sometimes it is hard to even afford the simplest in basic needs. Some of these young women don't even have the means at home to shower or brush their teeth and would rely on a sink or shower at school to get the job done. It is already difficult for young women to adjust to a locker room/gym environment; adding lack of hygiene products to that can be a huge embarrassing disaster waiting to happen. My goal is to help restore confidence to as many young women in need as possible; by providing them with some small essentials and take that worry of not being able to purchase their own away from them. Each girl will be given a small ,new or gently used, cosmetic bag with basic hygiene essentials inside. An example is located on our project Facebook page as well as an item list to show what type of donations we are looking for. We would like to have at least 200 bags to donate by May of this year. Please take a look at the items we are looking to be donated and/or donate to our go fund me and we will purchase items in your name to help our cause. All donations will go into making these Hygiene bags for young women in need in my community. I am looking to partner with the PTA at my school to help with distribution. Please note that if you are sending a donation package through ups or DHL, etc. the address will be: 3415 W.
