On July 13th, 2026, a devastating wildfire swept through the remote community of Namaygoosisagagun First Nation. In a matter of hours, families were forced to evacuate on their own as the fire destroyed homes and the community they had built together.
For the families of Namaygoosisagagun, this was more than the loss of houses and possessions. It was the loss of a place where generations have lived, raised their children, gathered as families, and maintained their connection to the land and one another.
Today, community members remain displaced while the long process of rebuilding begins.
We are asking for your support to help the families of Namaygoosisagagun during this difficult time. Donations will help provide essential needs for displaced members and support the community as families work toward returning home.
Every contribution, no matter the amount, will make a difference. If you are unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser is another meaningful way to help.
The people of Namaygoosisagagun have shown tremendous strength and resilience. With the support of friends, neighbours, organizations, and caring people across Canada, we can help them rebuild not only their homes, but their community.
Miigwetch for your kindness, generosity, and support.
