The Colin Ross (Mig O’Hara family)

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Gina Hernandez, I hold this family dear to my heart. Colin Ross was a brilliant talent in our community, a husband, a friend, a father, whose music transpired vibration to your soul!
Dance Unlimited was a home to the Ross/O’Hara children and Mig has been an impeccable force, training dancers throughout the years, at the studio.
We are hosting this go fund me page to help the family during this difficult time, as this tremendous loss was sudden and unexpected. ALL OF THE FUNDS WILL
GO DIRECTLY TO THE FAMILY.
The family is grateful for the unbelievable love and support they have received. Your heartfelt comments will spread love and bring a ray of light to the family during this time of sorrow. Thank you ❤️

FROM THE FAMILY,
On March 9th , 2024 our community lost one its greatest and most generous performing artists, Colin Ross. Colin was not only a virtuosic multi-instrumentalist and writer, but a gentle, thoughtful, inquisitive soul, passionate teacher, dedicated father, and loving husband. Colin lived and worked in Reno for over 30 years, and was a dedicated steward for the arts community. He shared his music through various outlets in the city, including numerous restaurants, senior care facilities, memory care facilities, assisted living homes, the Renown healing arts program, Truckee Meadows Community College, Washoe County School District, the Artown children’s workshops, the Nevada Museum of Art, and the Sierra Arts Program. There so many more ways in which Colin contributed to the culture and community of Reno, but there are too many things to remember and list here.

Colin was an ardent supporter of the dance and theatre community, an outdoor and travel enthusiast, animal lover, art lover and lifelong student of the world. His kindness and passion was infectious and will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

Colin is survived by his wife, Mig O’Hara, his 6 children, 4 grandchildren, and beloved dogs. His health issues escalated extremely rapidly, and his passing has been devastating to his family. He died unexepectedly due to complications from late-diagnosed, stage 4 lymphoma. While the family appreciates all of the kind words, gifts, meals and gestures from the community, the most impactful way to help is to donate to defray the substantial costs associated with his medical bills.

The family is planning a public Celebration of Life service in early May, and will release more details about the event as they become available. In the meantime, please feel free to use this page as a catch-all for your kind wishes towards Colin and his family.
