Hi,
We’re The Cocoa Dream Society, a charity dedicated to empowering young minds through creative education. This August, we’re running our Summer School 2025 at the Black Cultural Archives (BCA)—proudly sponsored by Bloomsbury Publishing and Audible.
The response has been overwhelming: we've received over 300 enquiries, far exceeding our expectations. While we’re incredibly grateful for the interest, we currently only have 40 places available.
We had hoped to secure additional funding from Lambeth Council to expand the programme, but were unfortunately unsuccessful. That’s why we’re reaching out—with your support, we can raise the funds needed to open a few more spaces and reach more children.
Here’s what participants will experience during the two-week programme:
Drama Workshop by Gifted Classes – building confidence, collaboration, and creativity
✍️ Daily Writing Sessions – guiding children through every step of writing their own book
Published Work – each child will receive a printed, professionally published copy of their story
Workshops with Industry Experts – including writers and illustrators from Bloomsbury Publishing
Studio Recording with Audible – children will narrate and record their stories in a professional studio (sessions typically cost £1,000–£2,000 per child—generously covered by Audible)
To make this opportunity available to more children, we urgently need funds to cover venue hire, teaching staff, and materials. Every contribution helps us bring this inspiring programme to more young people who deserve a chance to shine.
Thank you for considering a donation.
Warm regards,
The Cocoa Dream Society Team
