Please help Chelford Edging group to create an owl sculpture
Donation protected
Update - what an incredible response to our fundraiser!! We are absolutely delighted that there has been so much support. Any additional funding over our target will be used by the edging group for the improvement of Chelford. Thank you to everyone for your donations.
The Chelford Edging Group is raising £1000 to create an owl sculpture from a storm damaged tree.
The edging group consists of 18 volunteers improving the village verges, open spaces and footpaths.
To date expenditure by the Group has been limited to specimen trees, bulbs, grass seed and small items of equipment which, in the main, have been self-funded. However, storm damage and the removal of oak trees on open space near the top of Dixon Drive has opened up this opportunity.
It is planned to place a wooden sculpture of an owl on a remaining tree stump, which has been left at 2 meters for this purpose.
Chelford businesses have kindly offered to donate and local taxi driver Andy Paolo is doing the tough Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge to raise money for the fund. A village 80s night hopes to raise money and we would be very grateful to anyone who donates through this go fund me which will remain open until mid April.
Thank you to anyone who donates - we believe this is a wonderful opportunity to make an interesting improvement to the environment.
