On September 16, 2020 at 4:45AM Hurricane Sally made landfall near Gulf Shores, AL as a category 2 bringing catastrophic winds and severe flooding to surrounding areas.
The Central Gulf Coast People’s Council is immediately responding to the crisis by providing direct action to the rural areas throughout the Gulf Coast in the following ways:
- daily food shares in multiple locations
- free markets
- neighborhood clean up
- minor housing repairs
- pickups, deliveries, etc.
- basic medical clinics
We have learned unfortunately from previous disasters that we can not rely on the American Red Cross or other government agencies to take care of us, particularly the most marginalized communities. We invite you to help us rebuild our community by financially supporting those on the ground on the Central Gulf Coast.
